Setting up a new company number.
If you’re in the early days of your business, Ooma makes it easy for you to set up a new company number. During the activation process, you will be asked to select a phone number by searching by area code and/or city. This same process will repeat whenever you add additional capacity to your Ooma Office account.
Ooma works hard to provide you with phone numbers as close to your preference as possible. Although we cannot guarantee to provide the exact number you enter, chances are very good that you’ll be able to get the number you requested for that calling area. This is a favorite feature for many of our customers, as they have control over their phone selection and can keep their business local.
Porting an existing company number.
If you’re in the early days of your business, Ooma makes it easy for you to set up a new company number. This same process will repeat whenever you add additional capacity to your Ooma Office account.
Some companies request to port their existing business numbers, and for good reason. It’s easier for your employees and eliminates confusion for your customers. If you are switching your office phone service and wish to keep your existing business number, Ooma has you covered with have several options:
- Ooma will provide a temporary number so that you can use the system immediately while the porting process is underway. Porting is available in most areas and typically takes 3-4 weeks to complete.
