Ooma® enhances small business phone solution and increases retail distribution

PALO ALTO, CA - Tuesday, November 12th, 2013

Ooma®, Inc., the leader in smart home and business communication systems, is adding online fax and call log enhancements to Ooma Office, its first product specifically designed to address the needs of small businesses. The do-it-yourself business phone solution, initially offered for purchase at Staples, Staples.com and via the Ooma website, is now available through a number of major online retailers including Amazon, Best Buy.com, Costco.com and others. Ooma’s retail expansion sets it apart from other cloud-based small business phone services, which are frequently offered via Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and require custom installations with Ethernet cabling and IP phones.

Bundling an online fax feature into Ooma Office streamlines fax handling for small businesses. The call log feature is particularly useful for some users to review calling activity for hourly billing of professional service fees and to keep a log of their faxes.

“Ooma Office enables small businesses to work and sound like big businesses thanks to advanced features such as a virtual receptionist, conferencing, on-hold music, virtual extensions, and now call logs and an online fax feature,” said Eric Stang, chief executive officer, Ooma, Inc. “We’re committed to offering the easiest, most advanced, and most affordable business phone solution that grows with companies as they expand. In 2014, Ooma will continue to innovate on its business phone system, unveiling a series of new features to help small businesses be even more productive.”

New Pricing Information: Beginning this December, Ooma will transition its business phone service pricing from $19.99/month per line to $9.99/month per user and $9.99/month per phone number. This means that Ooma will be the most cost effective business-class phone system available with a small business paying as little as $19.98/month for unlimited calling throughout the U.S. and Canada. With Ooma, a small business with three employee extensions and a fax line will pay less than $50 per month.
