Ooma® introduces unlimited calling to 61 countries and free mobile HD app

Ooma, Inc., the leader in smart home and business communication systems, today introduced a new international calling plan, Ooma World Plan, with unlimited calling to 61 countries for only $17.99 a month. Ooma also introduced a new free version of its Ooma Mobile HD Application (app) for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with additional functionality and outstanding voice quality with Ooma’s PureVoice™ HD Technology.

With the new free Ooma Mobile HD app, Ooma customers can make domestic and international calls from an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad over any Wi-Fi or data network. By tapping into an active Wi-Fi or data connection, Ooma customers can use their Ooma account credentials while on the road to connect calls and bypass the high domestic and international calling rates associated with mobile calling plans from major carriers. New features include the ability to upload iPhone contacts to the Ooma address book, listen to Ooma voicemail, and change preferences directly from the app.

The Ooma Mobile HD app used in combination with the Ooma World Plan can save Ooma customers thousands of dollars on international calls. In addition, Ooma’s PureVoice HD Technology uses advanced voice compression to reduce bandwidth usage by 60%, minimizing data usage, allowing for longer calling times over 3G and 4G.

The Ooma Mobile HD app is free. Calls using the Ooma Mobile HD app start at 1.9 cents per minute for U.S. calls or applicable rates for international calls or plans. Ooma Premier customers using the Ooma Mobile app receive 250 minutes of U.S. calling for free every month. Use of the Ooma Mobile HD app requires an Ooma account.
