Ooma, Inc. today announced that its ooma system is now available at RadioShack stores across the country. RadioShack, one of the nation’s most experienced and trusted consumer electronics retailers, will offer ooma in more than 3,000 locations. This announcement highlights the company’s continued commitment to expand its national retailer network, offering ooma to an increasing number of consumers anxious to save money with innovative technology.
“Every day, more consumers are discovering ooma’s superior call quality, impressive suite of features, ease of use, and low cost of ownership,” said Aaron Duran, Vice President of Sales at ooma. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have ooma now available at RadioShack, where consumers can learn about ooma from more than 34,000 sales associates.”
“In our ongoing effort to make innovative electronics products more accessible, we are excited to be offering our customers the ooma system,” said Doug Lane, RadioShack Merchandising Vice President. “Customers who purchase the ooma device will enjoy nationwide calling, exceptional voice quality and no monthly fees. The ooma Hub™, a VoIP phone device, relies on a high speed Internet connection to make free calls in the U.S.; you do not need to have your notebook or desktop computer connected to it.”
An ooma system consists of the ooma Hub™ connected to a broadband connection and an existing home phone. The ooma Scout device extends the benefits of the ooma system to additional phone jacks in the home. The ooma system is a $249.99 hardware bundle that includes an ooma Hub and ooma Scout. ooma Premier is an optional level of service offering multiple advanced telephony features for the ooma system and costs $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year. ooma Telo is the second generation ooma hardware platform and will be available with optional DECT 6.0 wireless handsets in the third quarter of 2009.
