Today, ooma, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based company dedicated to freeing consumer telephone service, announces the expansion of its management team to include Chief Business Development and Sales Officer Anurag Lal. Mr. Lal joins ooma from iPass a global leader in mobility services where he, also, served as the company’s Chief Business Development and Sales Officer. At ooma, Mr. Lal will be responsible for managing global sales including direct-to-consumer and channel sales. He, additionally, will oversee all business development activities including strategic alliances, investment and partnership activities.

At iPass Anurag played a key role in helping the company evolve from an early stage “start-up” to the recognized leader in Mobility services, while at the same time growing the iPass revenue base multiple fold to close to $200 Million. At iPass, Anurag was also responsible for pioneering Wi-Fi and broadband roaming an accomplishment that he has been recognized for by his industry peers globally.
Before joining iPass, Anurag served as Vice President of Internet and Multimedia Services for BT Worldwide, where he had profit and loss responsibility for the company’s international ISP, IP backbone and Web hosting business. Additionally, He served as Vice President of Data and Internet Services at e.spire Communications, Inc (formerly ACSI), where he established and managed the Data and Internet Division, and led the development and launch of the industry’s first integrated voice, data and Internet service offering for the SMB market. Prior experience includes management positions at Sprint International Communications Corporation.
